Why this model

What it does on the floor

Ingress protection IP65

Sealed against dust and water on the floor, not just in a lab.

Runs your client Linux

Windows, Android or Linux build — confirmed against your app before dispatch.

Battery 1000m Ah

Field-swappable packs and dock charging keep a shift running.

I/O for legacy kit RJ45 / RS232 / USB

Fixed-station wiring without an extra adapter box.

Application

What this model was built to do

A vehicle terminal exists because a laptop strapped to a forklift does not survive the second shift. Fixed mounting, ignition-triggered power, vibration-tolerant connectors and a screen that stays readable through a windscreen at noon — the form comes from the truck, not from the office.

Goods-in, put-away and picking — application photograph 01

Goods-in, put-away and picking

Pallet labels, location labels and case labels in the same shift — often the same minute. The operator wears gloves, works at reach-truck height, and cannot walk back to a terminal to correct a mis-scan.

SOFTWARE

WMS mobile client (SAP EWM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder) driven by keyboard wedge, DataWedge intent or the vendor SDK. Ask your ISV which output mode the app expects before the sample ships.

Sorting, loading and proof of delivery — application photograph 02

Sorting, loading and proof of delivery

Thousands of labels a day, read at arm's length, in rain, at the back of a van. The last scan of the day is a signature or a photo, and it has to be attached to the shipment record before the driver leaves.

SOFTWARE

Courier app with camera capture, signature and offline queueing. Check the barcode symbologies your network actually prints — some still use Code 39 and ITF-14.

Metering, inspection and maintenance

No Wi-Fi, no desk, gloves on, sun on the screen. The engineer fills a form, photographs the asset plate and syncs hours later — sometimes from a different site. The device is also the camera and the map.

SOFTWARE

Field service management app (ServiceMax, Salesforce FSL, local builds) with offline storage and GPS. Windows-only diagnostic tools are the reason notebooks are still specified here.

Deployment

Where it deploys — use, markets, bands, preparation

10.1" Linux rugged vehicle terminal, IP65, -20 °C~60 °C — In deployment the vehicle is the power source and the vibration spec decides the lifespan — mount, supply and antenna are engineered together.

HOW IT IS USED

  • Warehouse vehicles: pick-by-voice/scan hybrid, screen mounted at eye level, keyboard or gloved touch.
  • Yard and port: container/plate scanning from the cab, network via site Wi-Fi or private LTE.
  • Mining/construction: payload weighing, dispatch and dump tracking with the vehicle's CAN data.
  • Field service trucks: job dispatch, parts scanning and signature capture at the customer's gate.
  • Linux image for fixed-function roles — AGV terminals, gate boxes and kiosks where the stack is locked at deployment and never re-imaged.

MARKETS & WHY

Global (any 12/24 V fleet)

Wide-input supply with ISO 7637-2 transient protection fits trucks, vans and warehouse vehicles.

Warehouse electric fleets (36–80 V)

DC-DC converter option for forklift battery voltages — specify at order.

Brazil / Mexico / Chile

Ports and mining fleets run the same 24 V standard; Spanish/Portuguese UI and local support.

Southeast Asia

3PL warehouses standardise on this form factor; cradle stock held regionally.

WATCH-OUTS

  • Vehicle voltage is not 12/24 V in practice: cranking drops to 6 V and load dumps spike above 60 V — the DC input spec matters more than the screen spec.
  • Electric forklifts are 36–80 V; connecting to the traction battery without the DC-DC option will destroy the unit and void the warranty.
  • Antenna placement decides Wi-Fi roaming quality; metal cabs kill signal — use the external antenna kit.
  • Mount must match the vehicle's ROPS/overhead-guard spec; we supply the fit list for common forklift brands.
  • Legacy serial gear is 5 V vs 3.3 V logic depending on age — confirm the level or use the isolated adapter.

WHAT TO PREPARE

  • Vehicle make/model list so the correct mount and power lead are quoted.
  • Battery voltage of the fleet (12/24 V trucks vs 36–80 V electric).
  • Site Wi-Fi or private-LTE coverage plan for the yard/aisles.
  • For cold chain: confirm the freezer rating and heated-screen option at PO.
  • List of legacy serial devices to be connected (model + voltage level).

Bands listed are the default SKUs for each market — final frequency/certification confirmation against the local operator is part of the quotation.

Software fit

What your application needs from the hardware

Read this against your own client before the sample ships — it is the list that decides whether the device works on day one or on the third firmware build.

Power
9–36 V DC input with ignition sensing — the terminal must survive crank dips without a reboot.
Mounting
VESA or RAM bracket to the forklift cage; aviation connector for power and data.
Client software
WMS on-vehicle client in full-screen kiosk mode, large-button UI for a moving truck.
Wireless
Site-wide Wi-Fi with roaming, or private 4G where the yard has no coverage.

Questions about the BV-V10J

Before you order

Stock, configuration, software compatibility and what happens when a unit fails. The answer comes from the person who configured it.

All questions
01Who is behind this site?
Bastion Rugged is the trading front of Bright Alliance Tech Limited, Shenzhen. We design and build rugged mobile hardware — barcode scanning, UHF RFID, NFC, biometric capture — and we sell it to system integrators and solution providers rather than to consumers. The tooling, PCB and antenna work happen with our own engineering team, not through a trading desk.
02Can you supply five units for a pilot?
Yes. A pilot is the normal entry point. We quote single units at sample pricing and support the pilot with spare parts on the same order — a spare battery and a cradle, not a pallet.
03Do the Android units ship with GMS?
Most Android models ship with GMS. For builds where Google services must be absent, we supply a GMS-free firmware on the same hardware — say so at the quotation stage, because it is a firmware decision, not a setting.
04What warranty do you give?
One year as standard, covering the unit and the battery against manufacturing faults. Extended cover and advance-replacement terms are available for fleets — ask for them with the quotation, not after the first failure.
