Windows, Android or Linux build — confirmed against your app before dispatch.

Battery 3.8V 4800mAh Li-polymer, user-replaceable

Field-swappable packs and dock charging keep a shift running.

Application

What this model was built to do

An ID terminal exists because identity has to be verified where the transaction happens — at a counter, a gate, a hotel desk or a site office — with no fixed network and no desktop. The device carries the ID reader, the fingerprint sensor, the camera and the barcode scanner in one housing so the operator does not juggle three peripherals in front of the customer.

Sorting, loading and proof of delivery — application photograph 01

Sorting, loading and proof of delivery

Thousands of labels a day, read at arm's length, in rain, at the back of a van. The last scan of the day is a signature or a photo, and it has to be attached to the shipment record before the driver leaves.

SOFTWARE

Courier app with camera capture, signature and offline queueing. Check the barcode symbologies your network actually prints — some still use Code 39 and ITF-14.

Shelf edge, stockroom and price checks

Associates scan shelf-edge labels and price tags, count stock in a back room with no signal, and take payment at a pop-up counter. The device is picked up and put down hundreds of times a shift.

SOFTWARE

POS or store-ops app on Android, or a Windows store system that has never been rewritten. Both need a scan path that does not fight the on-screen keyboard.

Metering, inspection and maintenance — application photograph 03

Metering, inspection and maintenance

No Wi-Fi, no desk, gloves on, sun on the screen. The engineer fills a form, photographs the asset plate and syncs hours later — sometimes from a different site. The device is also the camera and the map.

SOFTWARE

Field service management app (ServiceMax, Salesforce FSL, local builds) with offline storage and GPS. Windows-only diagnostic tools are the reason notebooks are still specified here.

Deployment

Where it deploys — use, markets, bands, preparation

ID-terminal PDA, 5.5" · IP65 — In deployment it is identity capture at the edge: document, chip, finger and face verified on the spot, synced to the central server.

HOW IT IS USED

  • Field enrollment: birth/ID/voter registration where paper is still the source — data captured once, verified on the spot.
  • SIM/bank KYC: regulator-mandated identity checks at the point of sale, results posted to the central server.
  • Access & time attendance: biometric match on the door or the gate, offline capability with later sync.
  • Elections / census: offline voter roll, dedupe and audit trail on the device.
  • Android build managed through MDM — the WMS/ERP app ships as a managed package, kiosk-mode locks the device to the workflow app.

MARKETS & WHY

India

Aadhaar-enabled device certification (STQC/L1) path for biometric readers — confirm variant.

Indonesia / Philippines / Nigeria

National SIM-registration programs demand liveness-capable capture on rugged hardware.

Africa (Kenya, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire)

Voter-registration and social-program enrollment projects; solar-charging kits available.

Latin America

Banking correspondent and government subsidy programs (Bolsa Família-type) use this form factor.

RADIO & BANDS

CellularLTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B28(/B40) variant per region
Biometric busesFingerprint (FAP level per variant) · Contact/contactless smartcard (ISO 7816 / 14443 A-B-C)

WATCH-OUTS

  • Government projects usually require the biometric device to appear on the national certified-device list — lead time for that listing is months, plan it at bid stage.
  • Liveness / spoof detection levels differ per regulator; confirm the FAP level and liveness spec in the tender.
  • Printers and smartcard modules change the certification — order the exact variant from day one.
  • Check the Android security-update window against the project life in the quotation — a 5-year project on a 3-year update SKU leaves a gap.

WHAT TO PREPARE

  • The tender's certification annex (which list, which level) before quoting.
  • SDK and test environment access for the system integrator (we provide under NDA).
  • Field logistics: spare batteries, carry cases and solar charger where grid power is absent.
  • Server-side API for biometric template storage per the country's data-protection rules.
  • The worst barcode in the workflow (material, finish, size) — we match the engine, not just the spec sheet.

Bands listed are the default SKUs for each market — final frequency/certification confirmation against the local operator is part of the quotation.

Software fit

What your application needs from the hardware

Read this against your own client before the sample ships — it is the list that decides whether the device works on day one or on the third firmware build.

ID reading
Offline 2nd-generation ID card reading, passport MRZ over camera, or both. Only some markets allow offline reading — check the rule.
Biometrics
Fingerprint (FBI-certified sensor), face or iris. The SDK matters as much as the sensor: ask which one your enrolment software expects.
Client software
Enrolment or verification app with an offline queue — the counter often loses the network before it loses the queue.
Compliance
Biometric data is regulated in most markets. Confirm where templates are stored before the device leaves the box.

Questions about the BH-BX6200

Before you order

Stock, configuration, software compatibility and what happens when a unit fails. The answer comes from the person who configured it.

All questions
01Who is behind this site?
Bastion Rugged is the trading front of Bright Alliance Tech Limited, Shenzhen. We design and build rugged mobile hardware — barcode scanning, UHF RFID, NFC, biometric capture — and we sell it to system integrators and solution providers rather than to consumers. The tooling, PCB and antenna work happen with our own engineering team, not through a trading desk.
02Can you supply five units for a pilot?
Yes. A pilot is the normal entry point. We quote single units at sample pricing and support the pilot with spare parts on the same order — a spare battery and a cradle, not a pallet.
03Do the Android units ship with GMS?
Most Android models ship with GMS. For builds where Google services must be absent, we supply a GMS-free firmware on the same hardware — say so at the quotation stage, because it is a firmware decision, not a setting.
04What warranty do you give?
One year as standard, covering the unit and the battery against manufacturing faults. Extended cover and advance-replacement terms are available for fleets — ask for them with the quotation, not after the first failure.
