Why this model

What it does on the floor

Barcode capture 2D scan engine integrated

Keyboard-wedge, intent or SDK output — your app decides.

Ingress protection IP67

Sealed against dust and water on the floor, not just in a lab.

Drop rating 1.5 m

Tested on the corners and edges that actually hit concrete.

Runs your client Android

Windows, Android or Linux build — confirmed against your app before dispatch.

Application

What this model was built to do

A handheld exists because the operator's other hand is already holding the carton. Everything about the format is decided by that: weight under 400 g, a scan key that falls under the thumb, a battery that survives a ten-hour shift without a charging detour. If the workflow needs a bigger screen or a keyboard all day, the answer is a tablet, not a heavier handheld.

Goods-in, put-away and picking — application photograph 01

Goods-in, put-away and picking

Pallet labels, location labels and case labels in the same shift — often the same minute. The operator wears gloves, works at reach-truck height, and cannot walk back to a terminal to correct a mis-scan.

SOFTWARE

WMS mobile client (SAP EWM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder) driven by keyboard wedge, DataWedge intent or the vendor SDK. Ask your ISV which output mode the app expects before the sample ships.

Warehouse & Logistics
Shelf edge, stockroom and price checks — application photograph 02

Shelf edge, stockroom and price checks

Associates scan shelf-edge labels and price tags, count stock in a back room with no signal, and take payment at a pop-up counter. The device is picked up and put down hundreds of times a shift.

SOFTWARE

POS or store-ops app on Android, or a Windows store system that has never been rewritten. Both need a scan path that does not fight the on-screen keyboard.

Sorting, loading and proof of delivery — application photograph 03

Sorting, loading and proof of delivery

Thousands of labels a day, read at arm's length, in rain, at the back of a van. The last scan of the day is a signature or a photo, and it has to be attached to the shipment record before the driver leaves.

SOFTWARE

Courier app with camera capture, signature and offline queueing. Check the barcode symbologies your network actually prints — some still use Code 39 and ITF-14.

Deployment

Where it deploys — use, markets, bands, preparation

4.0" Android 11 rugged handheld, IP67 and 1.5 m drop, 5000 mAh battery, 2D imager and numeric keypad — In deployment one hand holds the goods, the other scans — weight, scan key and battery decide the shift, everything else follows.

HOW IT IS USED

  • Warehouse dock-to-stock: receiving, putaway, picking and cycle counts, WMS client online all shift.
  • Retail floor and backroom: price checks, inventory and clienteling on the same unit.
  • Yard & dock operations: vehicle cradle + external antenna keeps Wi-Fi/LTE alive between buildings.
  • Field service: job cards, parts scanning and signature capture at the customer site.
  • Android build managed through MDM — the WMS/ERP app ships as a managed package, kiosk-mode locks the device to the workflow app.

RADIO & BANDS

Wi-FiWi-Fi 6 802.11ax 2.4/5 GHz — channel plan set per destination country

WATCH-OUTS

  • Wi-Fi channel plans differ per country (5 GHz DFS, 5.8 GHz limits) — tell us the deployment country so the radio profile is set before shipping.
  • Scan engine choice matters: standard 1D/2D imager vs DPM-capable engine for etched/direct-part marks — send us your worst barcode.
  • Cellular variants are factory-set by region — the SIM slot does not make it a global device; confirm bands against the carrier.
  • OS security update window (Android builds) should match the project life — we state the support period in the quotation.
  • Check the Android security-update window against the project life in the quotation — a 5-year project on a 3-year update SKU leaves a gap.

WHAT TO PREPARE

  • Deployment country + carrier (drives the cellular SKU and radio profile).
  • WMS/ERP client details (name, version, scan output mode) so we match the integration.
  • Charging strategy: cradles per shift, spare batteries, vehicle docks.
  • Sample unit for the pilot — 48 h dispatch on stocked models.
  • The worst barcode in the workflow (material, finish, size) — we match the engine, not just the spec sheet.

Bands listed are the default SKUs for each market — final frequency/certification confirmation against the local operator is part of the quotation.

Software fit

What your application needs from the hardware

Read this against your own client before the sample ships — it is the list that decides whether the device works on day one or on the third firmware build.

Scan output
Keyboard wedge, DataWedge intent, or SDK integration — the ISV picks; the engine is the same 1D/2D imager.
Client software
Android 11/13/14 app, or a Windows 10/11 client that has never been ported. Confirm the OS before the hardware.
Device management
MDM enrolment (SOTI, VMware Workspace ONE, MobileIron) and staged firmware roll-out across a fleet.
Data path
Wi-Fi 5/6 roaming between aisles, 4G fallback in the yard, offline queue in the app for dead zones.

Questions about the BH-F1

Before you order

Stock, configuration, software compatibility and what happens when a unit fails. The answer comes from the person who configured it.

All questions
01Who is behind this site?
Bastion Rugged is the trading front of Bright Alliance Tech Limited, Shenzhen. We design and build rugged mobile hardware — barcode scanning, UHF RFID, NFC, biometric capture — and we sell it to system integrators and solution providers rather than to consumers. The tooling, PCB and antenna work happen with our own engineering team, not through a trading desk.
02Can you supply five units for a pilot?
Yes. A pilot is the normal entry point. We quote single units at sample pricing and support the pilot with spare parts on the same order — a spare battery and a cradle, not a pallet.
03Do the Android units ship with GMS?
Most Android models ship with GMS. For builds where Google services must be absent, we supply a GMS-free firmware on the same hardware — say so at the quotation stage, because it is a firmware decision, not a setting.
04What warranty do you give?
One year as standard, covering the unit and the battery against manufacturing faults. Extended cover and advance-replacement terms are available for fleets — ask for them with the quotation, not after the first failure.
